I have collaborated with many people to create special pieces for their weddings, hand-fastings, naming ceremonies, coming of age ceremonies, rituals, anniversaries, and other special occasions. Each time I work with someone on custom jewelry, we discuss the desired energetic intention for the piece, as well as the aesthetic. Sometimes the creative process involves matching stones to a sample of fabric or working from a photo. I have helped friends create sacred pieces as gifts for their loved ones, as well as working with long-distance clients over the phone and email.
Most recently I helped a bride create jewelry for her ceremony. She wrote, “Renee’s work is as powerful as it is beautiful. Another happy customer asked me to make a special necklace for her naming ceremony. During the holiday season a customer asked me to create a special necklace for a friend of hers on the East Coast. Afterward, she shared her experience: "I was looking for a gift for my friend. I met Renee shortly after I had gotten engaged and had started looking for wedding jewelry for myself and my bridesmaids. When I found out she made jewelry, it felt serendipitous. I had started to get frustrated with my search, not finding anything I liked (or that I could afford) in stores, and yet feeling wary of purchasing from some random, anonymous website.
Once I asked Renee for help, her expertise, resources, and patience made the process easy and fun. She showed me pearls and stones of different sizes, shapes, and colors. I could see everything and hold it in my hand and against my wedding dress before I had to make any decisions. She even showed me different earring backings and necklace clasps.
When I had a hard time deciding between long drop earrings or simpler classic ones, Renee made both for me. That meant that if I remained indecisive, I could even wait until my wedding day to decide which pair to wear. She also made beautiful pearl necklaces that served as my gift to my bridesmaids, as well as a small version for my flower girl. My favorite piece of the set would have to be the bracelet that I wore - a double-strand of pearls attached with a beautiful vintage swarovski crystal clasp that had belonged to Renee's grandmother.
